There are many residents in nursing homes who receive very few, if any visits and attention from their families and friends. This can create a very lonely and despairing existence for these individuals. UOM has developed a program for the youth and young adults to "adopt" such individuals as their "grandparents". The "grandchildren" are responsible for taking the time to pay their "grandparents" a visit, give them flowers on occasion and do something special for their birthdays and other special dates.

UOM also provides musical programs and sing-a-longs for nursing home residents. This gives us the opportunity to meet the residents one on one, form memorable friendships and tap into their wealth of knowledge and wisdom they have accumulated over the years.
